Good for cold Lovingly soft Ooo it's so warm Very soft and fluffy Everyday I love to wear them So nice by Síofra Rang 3 6th class went to the Cottage Nursing Home to carol sing a few days before Christmas. We went with Betty, Ms. Brown and Ms. Conway. When we walked in, the place was gigantic! We walked into the sun room where the elderly were sitting. We sang lots of Christmas songs and we played Jingle Bells on the recorder. One of the residents, Jimmy, was very funny. He loved singing. The residents and staff were very kind. They thanked us and praised our singing. They treated us to chocolates. It was an amazing, fun experience. We plan to go back again before the end of 6th Class.
by Abbie Mullery Farrell Hello! 5th class here! We want to tell you about our trip to Rathwood, Co. Carlow, on Wednesday 14th December . We set off at 9 o'clock in the morning and the bus trip took two hours. It did not seem too long because we chatted and sang Christmas songs. We had great fun in Rathwood. We met Mrs. Clause, Jackie Frost, Grandpa Reindeer and three funny elves called Twinke, Sparkle and Chuchu. The elves led us to the yellow train which took us to a cottage in the woods. Santa was in a little room in the cottage. We went in to visit him! He talked with us and gave us presents. The train took us back to a café where we ate our lunch and drank hot chocolate. We had lots of fun in Rathwood. Thank you Hollie for winning this great prize and sharing it with us. Alexandria, Annabell and Niamh, Rang 5 Advent is the special time before Christmas. We get ready for Christmas. We made an Advent wreath. First we painted holly and five candles. We cut them out and stuck them in a big circle. The candles stand for hope, peace, joy, love and the birth of Jesus (light of the world). Every week we light one candle. The last candle will be lit on Christmas Day. It is the white candle. I wish everyone a happy Christmas.
Rachel, Rang 4 Nano Nagle Day was in November. We had lots of fun. Miss Lambert dressed up as a school girl. We made lanterns with playdough. Miss Conway gave us chocolate.
A long time ago children were not allowed to go to school. When Nano Nagle saw the poor people she was very sad. She started a school for a children. The school is called the Presentation Primary School. Our school is a very big school. We have pictures of Nano Nagle in the yard. By Addison and Róisín, Rang 1. On Friday 11th of November 2016 I attended the graduation of a friend of mine. The graduation took place in LIT College in Limerick. All graduates wore long black gowns with a blue sash. All girls wore caps but the boys did not. The ceremony took place at 2:30 pm in an old church. The ceremony was very interesting and you could see that all friends and families were proud of the graduates. After the conferring was finished we were treated to refreshments. Photos were taken of the graduates and families. Most people finished the day with a nice meal in a restaurant.
The graduates are now qualified to do different areas of art such as stopmotion animation, fashion, painting and graphic design. I enjoyed my day and I hope you enjoyed reading this piece. By Saffron Rang 4 Here is a story I wrote about our nature walk.
Yesterday we had a nature walk. We smelled roses. We saw a horse chestnut tree. Everyone collected conkers from it. We all saw the colours of the horse chestnut tree - all kinds of colours -yellow, red, orange, green and brown. We saw a statue in the garden. Our walk was such fun! Fatimah, Rang 1 Here is a story I wrote in school. I hope you enjoy it!
My Toy My toy's name is Lily. She is a bunny. She is a white rabbit. She is my BFF. We go everywhere. I love Lily. We do sports together. Lily's favourite sport is soccer. By Cayla, Rang 1 A few weeks ago I wrote a letter to Michael D. Higgins and to my suprise he wrote back. I got a letter from his private secretary and a signed picture from Micheal himself and I also got a signed book of poems (written by the President). I wrote to him because my granny and grandad's dog and Michael D. Higgins two dogs (Shadow and Bruno) are brothers and sisters. Unfortunatly my granny and grandad's dog, Junge Frau, passed away 2 weeks ago. We are all very sad but happy about the letter.
