Brief History
In 1814 the Presentation sisters established a primary school in Iristown Clonmel, beside St. Mary’s Church. Five hundred children attended on the first day. In 1829 the convent and school was moved to the present site on the Dungarvan Road. The present building was built in 1973. The Presentation Sisters originally taught Irish, Maths, Religious instruction and needlework. They continued their work educating the children of Clonmel for many years. The first lay principal of the school was appointed in 1988. Many additions and improvements have been made to the school building over the years, making it an accessible building for all with ramps, elevator, security doors, computer room, library, playgrounds and access to an all-weather pitch.
