Farewell to Good Friends

29/6/2022

The last school week of June saw many celebrations and joyous events.
Twenty one pupils in Rang 6 were confirmed by Fr. John Nally on Saturday 18th June in St. Mary's Church, Irishtown. The Graduation Mass for Rang 6 took place in the Assembly Hall in the Presentation Secondary School the following Tuesday. The girls and their teachers prepared beautifully, making both occasions very special and memorable. Prayers at the Mass included prayers of thanksgiving for the years the girls and our principal, Miss Conway, spent in the school and prayers for their continued health and well-being as they move to the next stage of their lives.
Much fun and enjoyment was shared at other events during the week, such as the traditional basketball match between Rang 6 and staff, a fun day with bouncy castles in the field (thank you Miss Conway), an outdoor concert with John Spillane (yes!) and a bumper Assembly where we said farewell to our girls in Rang 6, to some pupils in the Language Class and to Miss Conway on the occasion of her retirement. Enjoy some snapshots of our fond farewells.

Sporting Days

19/6/2022

Many thanks to Mr. O' Loughlin and the P.E. department in Presentation Secondary School for organising a football blitz for 5th Class pupils in local schools on 19 May. Our pupils in Rang 5 spent a very happy few hours playing their hearts out in the hopes of victory. After a very close semi-final, we conceded to a strong Ardfinnan team. The girls won the consolation game, thereby coming third. Tired, but satisfied with their achievement, the girls were only too happy to accept the refreshments which were provided by the Secondary. All agreed that it had been a competitive but fun morning, and that it was great to be out playing against other schools.
