We had the pleasure of a fire engine visiting our school in April. All the infant classes got a chance to sit in the fire engine and talk to our local fire fighter, Carol Meehan. It was a great treat and learnt the numbers to call if we are in troule...112 or 999!! Senior Infant were invited to attend a 'Story Hour' in Clonmel Library. The boys and girls were very excited to get on the bus and listen to three wonderful stories! Everyone listened so well and were engaged in the stories which were read by the librarian Stephanie. Afterwards we got a tour of the library and some time to choose a book and read! It was a great adventure for us all! The library is free to join for all families and offers lots of lovely fun activities for our children. Go on and take a trip down!
What fun the staff had on 3rd April planting an apple tree on the Suir Blueway just under the Convent Bridge. Thank you to Jeanette O'Dwyer for the idea and to Theresia Guschlbauer for bringing the materials and the tree! Thank you to everyone involved for the work and the laughs. The tree is planted beside the trees Rang 6 planted in December as part of Clonmel Applefest. There are a number of sayings about planting trees, but here are two you might like. The one who plants a tree plants hope. and He who plants a tree loves others beside himself (Thomas Fuller). |
