We were delighted to support the 'Make a Wish' charity on Friday 25th October. Earlier that week, Patricia from 'Make a Wish' spoke to senior classes about the children, the families, the wishes and the dreams that come true. The 'Make a Wish Foundation' supports sick children and their families by granting the child's greatest wish. Pupils and staff made a donation in return for dressing up. It is lovely to think our efforts will help to make someone's dream come true.
Friday 20th September was an exciting day for us all! The sun shone and we had three big reasons to celebrate; we had three flags to raise! Congratulations to all involved in achieving the 'Health Promoting School' flag, the 'Active School' flag and our sixth 'Green School' flag. Well done everyone on your efforts and on your great participation at the flag-raising.
We welcome back all our pupils and families. A big 'fáilte romhaibh' to our new pupils and their parents/guardians. We are looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow, Thursday 29th August and working together for a great school year. Let's step off to a good start!
This is the school's 9th year participating in the Discover Primary Science and Maths Awards. We engaged in a variety of projects and experiments covering all the Science strands incorporating maths, engineering and technology. We are very pleased with all the hard work and learning that we have achieved this year in Science. Enjoy looking through our log of evidence which shows some of our Science work! Best wishes from all the staff to the pupils in Rang 6 and their families as they celebrate Confirmation in St. Mary's Church tomorrow. Well done, girls, for preparing so well. We are busy as bees this spring! As well as all our usual work and games, we are focusing in a particular way on science, care of our environment, Green Schools and being active. Rang 2 and Rang 6 are busy preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Add in 'World Book Day' and 'Seachtain na Gaeilge', not to mention 'Stars in Their Eyes'! In the midst of it all it is lovely to look around us for the wonderful signs of spring. Happy springtime everyone!
We are excited to show you a sample of our Science work this year. We have been busy learning Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) and we have taken part in many activities, experiments and events. We have been involved in this project since 2010 and we have received seven plaques for STEM Excellence. If you would like to discover more, visit www.primaryscience.ie As we aim to achieve our 8th plaque of excellence, please enjoy looking through this year's work.
We are celebrating 'Friendship Week' this week - the perfect start to a new term. We look forward to one of the highlights on Thursday, when we will celebrate 'Multicultural Day'. Below you will see two photos from our archives. Looking forward to capturing more special moments later in the week.
