Online Learning

30/3/2020

Our new online classroom site was launched today. It is an exciting new venture for us all. Parents/guardians received details by text. We look forward to working with our pupils and families in this new way. It is lovely to be able to keep in touch and communicate with each other. We are all learning new things every day. Happy learning all!

Talking about learning... you all know that we have been asked to stop the spread of Covid-19 by keeping a good distance away from other people. The minimum distance away is 2m. We are also asked not to meet too many people in a week. Until Easter Sunday we are asked to stay in our homes (except for exercise) and not to meet friends, neighbours, cousins etc. Children are asked not to go out to play with friends and not to have friends call to the house. Keeping apart certainly is difficult but we all need to do this to keep ourselves and other people safe. Adults in the home can help children understand the new situation and children can help the adults! Together we can protect ourselves and others. Together we can make a difference. Keep social distance everyone!

Looking forward to playing games and having fun in our yard in the future.

Spending school time at home??

13/3/2020

On 12th March, our Government decided that all schools must close for the coming two weeks. This will help people to stay away from crowded places so that the new bug, Covid-19, will not spread so easily. Pupils in our school had mixed reactions to the news. Some children were delighted with the idea of time off school. Others were disappointed to miss our Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations and to be away from their classmates and friends. Parents may be concerned about the interruption to their child's education. In the short term, we can all enjoy the weekend and St. Patrick's Day.
Teachers sent work home with pupils and this will be helpful for next week. We will keep families up to date with suggestions for furthering education at home. Our first suggestion is read, read, read. We think you will enjoy that!
